Ella's First Play

It's clear that my blog comments regarding the weather are jinxing Mother Nature. Chicago got dumped on last Monday. Ugh. And it's been ridiculously cold all week. Therefore, I have nothing more to say about the weather. On to a better topic... today Ella, Jeritt, and I attended our first children's play. We bought the tickets for "Elephant and Piggie" (based on the popular children's book series) months ago, and have been looking forward to it for a while. Ella loved it, and since we've arrived home has been acting out the play herself, and trying to convince Jack to be Elephant to her Piggie.
The cold, rainy weather at least allowed Ella to wear her much-anticipated rain ensemble.

Excited for the play!

Recently, Jack has enjoyed sitting in a booster seat at the counter.

Playing with a little play dough.

Despite the endless winter, we bought a new swim suit for summer.

So Ella decided to go swimming.

She even got Jack dressed in his swim gear.

Where Did Spring Go?

Unsurprisingly, my post last week about the arrival of Spring is no longer accurate. The temps dropped quite a bit this week, especially over the weekend, but as long as the snow stays away we can't complain too much. Our weekend was low key, watching the UNI and Iowa basketball games on Friday night and enjoying dinner with our friends, Nick, Jovana, and their son, Oliver, on Saturday night. Today was the last day of swimming lessons; however, Jack woke up with a bug and didn't make it. I'm enjoying the extra snuggles today, but I sure hope he feels better soon.

Jack found a bunny at the park.

Reading up on Golf Digest.
Making cookies with Daddy.

Jack doesn't understand why Ella is inhaling her cookie. He prefers to savor it.

A little sidewalk chalk on the roof.

Playing with the trucks at the park.

While I was making dinner one night, Ella convinced Jack to put on their matching Christmas PJs and hang out in his crib.

Playing with our friend, Oliver. He and Jack were great buddies!

The Return of Spring!

It's amazing what 45 degree weather feels like after a long Chicago winter. Even though it's officially a week away, Spring seems to have arrived. We took advantage with plenty of trips to the park, riding the scooters that Santa brought outside for the first time, and making our first Scooter's run of the year. In other happenings, Ella has been learning about St. Patrick's Day at school and has been busy making leprechaun traps around the house (she's convinced they are real). And Jack has recently declared his maturity. When asked if he's a baby, he says "I'm not a baby, I'm Jackie."

Ella playing a card game....
Jack liking what he sees...
And they play together! (They have been playing really well together lately).
Time for a tea party.

The tea party party was a little tight.

Ella fixing her plane.

Spring weather has arrived!

Ella was very proud of having styled her own hair.

She's showing off her second skirt (as opposed to her belly).

He looks guilty.

St. Patty's Day at school.

Scooter time!!!!

Playing at Harper and Harrison's house.

The helmet is a little big yet.

Harrison, Harper, and Ella (not sure where Jack is).

Group hug.

There's Jack!

The return of Scooters!!!

This is where I found Jack after brushing Ella's teeth.

He was riding "puppy" down the stairs.

More scooter time.

Sunday morning story time.
