Weekend Warriors

Simon enjoys napping on Gary, the gorilla.

First weekend project - volunteering at the Anti-Cruelty Society. We made dog and cat toys.

This tiny puppy was in heaven with all of these kids!

Second volunteer project - baking cookies at the Ronald McDonald House.

Maeve was a great helper!

Admiring all of the toys in the "gift shop" for kids staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Ella decided to donate some of her birthday presents here.

Always creating.

Simon follows Maeve all over.

Ella's school showcase this year featured the different Chicago neighborhoods. Her group studied Greektown. It was a really cool project and performance!

The three of us went out for dinner after her showcase. Kind of crazy to just have our firstborn with us for a night:)

We babysat the kindergarten chick eggs over the weekend.

More Anti-Cruelty Society pics.

And Ella creation.

Book time before bed. Notice how Simon gets right in the middle of it:)

Weekend in St. Louis

With a three-day weekend ahead, we hit the road to St. Louis to visit Aunt Erin, Uncle Martin, and Alice. We had so much fun! We hit up the Science Center, Anheuser-Busch Brewery (Martin had the inside scoop:), and the very, very cool City Museum. Mostly, we enjoyed spending time with some of our favorite people.

Despite Maeve's "aggressive" love at times, Simon can't get enough of her.

This guy was so excited to see the Arch again in St. Louis!

Lots of exploring at the City Museum, such a cool place!

Pizza night!

Maeve doing my hair.

All dressed up for her Valentine's Day party at school.

I was sorting clothes that Maeve has outgrown, and she kept snatching stuff to put on.

Sisters sharing the iPad.

Despite his face, Jack enjoyed the Anheuser-Busch brewery tour. Lots of pipes!

Maeve wasn't happy that Alice knocked over the cleaning supplies.

Ella made a crown for Alice. Please disregard Maeve's lack of pants.

This girl created so many crafts over the weekend!

More museum time.

Simon sure missed us, and we missed him!

Jack's recreation of the St. Louis Arch. Note his catenary curve.

Jack dressed up as an old man for 100-day at school. He looks a little like Harry Caray!
