Hello, Spring!

Last week's blog post was about our recent snowstorm. This week we enjoyed a 78-degree day. Gotta love the Midwest weather! It was another low-key weekend. We played with Jace and Finley on Saturday morning, and then Jack developed a fever and was sick the rest of the weekend. I swear they're just taking turns each week. So ready for cold and flu season to be over!

With Jack under the weather, they all enjoyed extra TV time today.

We finally met Ella's beloved chicks. They will be leaving her classroom on Wednesday. She'll sure miss them!

Snacks al fresco.

They found these sombreros in the basement and came upstairs singing "yee haw!"

Ella made a swing on the trampoline.

It was too nice to nap inside.

Maeve insisted on wearing her snowsuit Saturday morning.

Snow Day!

As Ella put it when she woke up to a blanket of snow outside her window Tuesday morning, "If you wish hard enough, your dreams come true!" After a winter void of snow (our last flakes arrived the week before Christmas), the kids were ecstatic to finally put on their snow pants and pull out the sleds. They even found a way to go sledding in the front yard, and it kept them entertained for quite a while. In other updates, our kitchen remodel was finished this week, and we're really happy with it! I've posted a few pictures below. After 20 days of waiting (and endlessly talking about it at home), the chicks in Ella's kindergarten classroom finally hatched. She's in love with them, and seems to think she's bringing one home, assuring me that we'll never have to buy eggs again. Despite me waking up with a stomach virus on Friday morning, the kids had a great St. Patrick's Day, and loved finding a mess made by leprechauns. And finally, Maeve is talking more and more, and lately likes to grab our hand/finger and guide us to where she wants to go. Today it was the back door, and she kept saying, "bye bye." She's also saying "yesss" a lot, and constantly entertains us.

Dance moves in the basement. As you've probably noticed, we live in pajamas on the weekends.

Helping me sweep.

Despite her facial expression, Maeve loved playing in the snow.

Jack helped me shovel on Tuesday morning.

Kitchen complete!

A 'before' and 'after' shot.

Maeve loves underwear. I was organizing her clothes and she put these training pants on her head.

Jack had been wanting to make peanut butter muffins, so once the kitchen was finished, we did. I'm not sure where he got the idea, but they were pretty good!

My muffin man!

Ella's leprechaun trap. She made one a few weeks ago with skittles as bait, and caught Maeve one morning before school.

Green cream cheese for our waffles.

Lucky Charms and green milk.

She was a sassy lassy in this photo.

Ella read Maeve books for a while on Saturday morning. It was pretty sweet!

The latest, and hopefully last, victim of the stomach virus. She had a rough night, but was fine today.
