Remembering Grandma Nee-ma

It has been one month since my mom passed away and I felt like it was a good time to make a post in her honor. As expected, it was somewhat difficult to find photos of my mom as she was usually the one taking the photos. However, we were able to find a few photos from prior blog posts.  

It is nice to hear Ella talk about her favorite memories of Grandma Nee-ma and how much she misses her.  Ella likes to tell me that Grandma Nee-ma was the nicest person ever. As is evident in the photos below, my mom absolutely loved playing with her grandchildren and would do anything to make them happy.

We haven't done a lot of our regular summer activities lately, so today we made a morning of it and played at a new splash pad. Unexpectedly, Jack couldn't get enough and Ella complained of being cold. Overall, it was a beautiful morning and we're glad we finally got to soak up some Chicago sun!

A Day at the Beach and a Daddy Date Night

I realize I'm off on my posting schedule, but I'll try to get back on track next Sunday. This past weekend Grandma C. and Uncle Sam both came to town. Sam came to have fun, and Grandma came to work. In the three and half days she was here, we got a lot done around the house. We're so lucky to have all of the help! These are photos from the weekend as well as from our last trip to Iowa. We tried to pack in some summer fun over the weekend with a trip to the beach, and a daddy date night.
