Father's Day Weekend

Our good friends, Nic and Savannah, came to visit this weekend. They're expecting their first child in August, so they were more than happy to hang with us family-style. We made the most of the hot weather with a trip to the beach, ice cream at Scooters, and lots of grilling and hanging out on the deck. Father's Day was spent chilling at home and celebrating one pretty amazing Dad. The kids and I are so lucky to have him! Finally, as a side note, Maeve officially has a tooth. She's been working on it for a while, and it finally popped through on the bottom.

This was taken at Erin's school's field day the week before.

Jeritt and I went to an amazing rooftop with our friends Nic and Savannah.

Ella put her backpack on Maeve.

Ella and Jack loaded the "car".  Very similar to Grandma and Papa.
Beach time!

Private pool at the beach.

Maeve gets applesauce...
Ella and Jack get ice cream..
Based on the look, I'm shocked Ella didn't make a move for Jack's ice cream.

Scooters!!!

Where did our baby girl go?!

Nice weekday trip to the zoo. The lions were basking in the morning sun.

Hot Children in the City

Summer has officially arrived! With temps nearing 100, we took advantage and hit a few kiddie pools with friends this week. We now realize that we have to get Maeve her own pool, as she is a fan of the water.  We also took a trip to Erin's school for their annual field day. The kids were so nice to Jack and Ella, and it was great to show them where Aunt Erin works. On Sunday afternoon, cousin Abbie and Eric stopped by during their brief Chicago trip.  Ella and Jack were treated to a movie and sleepover with Aunt Erin and Uncle Martin on Sunday night.

A selfie with Abbie.

Mommy snuggles.

Maeve was not sure what to think about the grass.

Hanging out with Erin at her school's annual field day.

Practicing the water balloon toss (spoiler alert, Erin caught it).

Maeve is a fan of watermelon.

So is Jack.

Playing with Jonah and Tyler.

Maeve really enjoyed her own little pool at our friends's house.

On to Kindergarten!

I know we hear it all of the time, but man, time flies. I feel like I was just writing on this blog about Ella's first day of preschool, and on Friday, she graduated and will begin kindergarten in the fall. It was a great ceremony at school, filled with lots of cute songs. And afterward we celebrated with treats and a dinner out. Now we're ready for a fun summer!

Our baby girl is a preschool graduate!

Pictures before graduation.

Jack got to participate, too, since he attends once a week. But he got a little stage fright and kept his eyes closed the entire time.

Even with his eyes closed, he got the "standing outside with my mouth open wide" part of the song correct.

The graduates were recognized.

Aunt Erin and Maeve.

Forget teething toys, this girl prefers dinosaurs.

Ella got a few new clothes for summer and really wanted this hat that matches mine.

Mom and Ella selfies.

Playing "car" with our friend, Morgan.

Maeve putting up with dress-up again.

Enjoying a treat at Sweet Mandy B's with her friend, Sofia.

Post-graduation dinner with pasta, of course.

Maeve has been trying some big girl foods, like carrots and edamame.

Playing ping pong at our neighbor's house.

Jack wanted to play ping pong at home.
