Happy Halloween!

Our black cat, elephant, and bat had a great Halloween. And no, the animal theme was not intentional:) Over the weekend, Grandpa Al came to visit and we made a family trip to the top of the Willis Tower downtown. Jack's latest interest is skyscrapers, and specifically, the Willis Tower. Unfortunately, the rain and clouds made it impossible to see anything from the 103rd floor, but Jack still seemed thrilled.
The "Ledge" at the top of the Willis Tower isn't so scary when you can't see how high you are.

Despite the lack of visibility, this boy was thrilled.

Posing in front of the view we didn't get.

The birthday girl is still receiving gifts, and has quickly figured out what presents are.

Our Halloween breakfast!

A throwback to Halloween two years ago. Our girls have grown so much!

Morning snuggles.

Ella didn't have school on Friday, so we had a girls morning while Jack was at preschool.

More Willis Tower pictures. Jack learned a lot about his favorite skyscraper!

Maeve hardly let Grandpa out of her sight during his visit!

Maeve Turns Two!

It's hard to believe, but our baby girl is two years old! We celebrated with a low-key weekend of Maeve's favorites: Moana, babies, and cake. Thrilled with her new birthday gifts, we could hardly get her out of the basement play room all weekend. She was super busy making us coffee and breakfast in her new kitchen and taking her babies to the "park." We sure love our sweet, sassy, and independent little girl!

She did her own hair, then crawled up in Jack's bed to read books.
What a handsome little dude.

We attended a pajama and pizza party at Ella's school to donate books to schools hit by hurricanes.

Making bookmarks.

Family reading was also part of the event.

Practicing his zombie faces for Halloween.

Ella had a field trip with her eighth grade buddy, Hannah, to a forest preserve. It was pretty neat, except that it was freezing!!

We got a new play kitchen for Maeve's birthday. She loves it, and spent every possible minute playing downstairs over the weekend.

Our baby girl is two!

Maeve picked out a Moana party theme. She loves the movie and soundtrack and knows all of the character names.
She makes the funniest faces!

Ella inherited Ava's old roller skates and has been busy practicing.

Jack the trash man wanted to collect leaves.

She can roller skate, and rake leaves!

Carving pumpkins.
