A Weekend in Kansas City

We have a few weekend trips planned for the fall, and the first was to Kansas City, where we visited Uncle Sam; our good friends, Zach, Kellie, and their new baby, Tanner; and the Vandall family, who also made a trip to the big city. On Friday we grabbed lunch with Zach upon our arrival, then let Ella blow off some steam in a nearby park. That night, we enjoyed grilling out at Zach and Kellie's with Uncle Sam. Saturday was spent at another park, the Plaza Art Fair, and out for pizza. Sunday morning brought a visit with the Vandall family, who had made the drive on Saturday. We met them at a great park and even though it was a short visit, Ella spent no time getting friendly with Everett (see below!). All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and we are very blessed with a fantastic traveler. She did really well, even learning a new phrase on the air plane - "up and down." Despite the flat tire awaiting us in the airport parking lot, we had a great trip and are already looking forward to the next one!
