Ella is 7

Somehow, our oldest baby has grown into a big kid. At seven, Ella is an amazing girl. Smart, extremely creative, kind, and compassionate, she's pretty darn special. We celebrated her birthday this weekend with a trip to Water Works, an indoor water park in the suburbs. Uncle Jeff, Aunt Kristin, Finley, and Jace joined us for swimming and pizza, and we'll celebrate more tomorrow with Abbie and Eric.

Ella and Jack just started karate, and they do a lot of exercising!

It's so nice when they all three play together like this.

Jack has been very interested in vacuuming again lately.

And Maeve loves to color.

Matching pajamas from Aunt Jill, Uncle Adam, Ava, and Reid.

She said, "Me next," after Ella had her picture taken.

Ella also started basketball this week.

Doing a little camping during a trip to a fun kids store.

Sleeping bag party!

We created a little reading/quiet time nook in the girls' room.

Reading to her baby.

Ella was "Star of the Week" at school, and started Monday off by wearing her new jumper made by Grandma.

French toast for her birthday breakfast.

Opening gifts.

Ella made us all gifts, what a sweet girl!

Her new hair-styling doll from Grandpa Al.

Ella's special gifts. Her footprints for Mom and Dad, a rhyming book for Jack, and hand-sewn hats for Maeve's babies.

Aunt Abby, Uncle Brian, and Maya sent Ella a scarf and hat for Ava.

The new hats fit!

Ella's latest project - hand-sewn mittens.
