Spring Break

Between the kids being on spring break from school, our kitchen floor being redone, and Jeritt traveling, this was a crazy week. Without a kitchen, we spent a lot of time out of the house and managed to eat pizza four out of six nights for dinner (the kids loved it!). We also had a sleepover at Uncle Jeff and Aunt Kristin's, which allowed some fun cousin time. It was a busy week, but we squeezed in plenty of play dates with friends we hadn't seen in a while and spent a lot of time enjoying the weather. Maeve also tried food again. While she showed more interest, she still didn't really understand (or care) how to swallow it.

The first really warm day of the year means saying "yes" when the ice cream truck pulls up to the park.

Poor Maeve, between construction and beautiful weather, she had to nap in the stroller.

What's in that popsicle?!

Mommy/Ella date night! She picked our outfits.

And the purse she packed earlier in the day included a set of keys to "lock" the door. Side note, mom forgot Ella's purse at the restaurant. Oops, good thing we live close by!

My beautiful girl.
Jack and Dad went to Potbelly for their dinner date.

No kitchen means dining al fresco!

Jack was inspired by the construction in the house.

Finely did not at all push Maeve over, but I think it's pretty funny that it looked like it! Maeve is so close to sitting, but still pretty wobbly.

They are going to be best buddies.

At least one of them is smiling!

Happy girl.

Ella took this picture of Maeve eating squash.

Spring has Sprung!

Spring finally made a solid appearance in Chicago, and we made the most of it this weekend. We started cleaning up the outside areas of the house and went on plenty of walks to the park. Jack also had his first dentist appointment this past week, and was a fantastic patient! This week is spring break from preschool, so hopefully the beautiful weather continues.

Jack's first trip to the dentist. He did great!

Maeve's first time in the stroller.

Jack wanted to make ants on a log. However, he ended up only eating the ants and the peanut butter.

When her feet are uncovered, she's chewing on them.

Celebrating the beginning of spring break with our pals at the park. We stopped at Sweet Mandy B's first:)

She got tired after working so hard.

Visit from Grandpa Al

After another week of terrible weather, our weekend was brightened by a visit from Grandpa Al. On Saturday we hung out at Uncle Jeff and Aunt Kristin's house for lunch and then enjoyed a family outing of bowling. Grandpa Al showed us all up, but everyone had a lot of fun. The kids were sad to see him leave this morning, but are already looking forward to their trip to Iowa in June.

Poor Maeve. When I take her grocery shopping I run out of room in the cart.

Jeritt and I had our first date night since Maeve was born. We capped it off with this gigantic ice cream sundae!

I think we know where Maeve gets her facial expressions. Ella picked out both of their outfits for 'twin day.'

Sporting her sunglasses.

A painting party.

Family bowling.

Always happy, Maeve hanging out while we bowled.

Maeve and Finley.

I love Maeve's face here. Maybe this is how she really feels about Ella's dress-up ideas.

It was a 'girl's party' with Aunt Erin.
