Ella's first blog post.

It was a fun week and awesome.  I made a lot of art projects and sewing.  I had my friend Kendall over for an after school play date . We looked for Frankie, the neighborhood cat.  Jack and Maeve are awesome. They played at Little Beans. We lost by 2 in basketball.  We made cupcakes on Sunday.  Mom and Dad went to my school fundraiser on Friday.  It was the best week and weekend ever.

I was going to say Picasso but this looks a little more like Van Gogh.

Another 1st grade birthday party.

The kids made pancakes for all of their animals.

Maeve is also a superhero.

Jack wanted to vacuum the stroller.  I wasn't going to argue with him.

Ella got a large head start.

Three Amigo Cupcakes!

Decorating like Grandma Sue.

Maeve woke up from her nap happy to see cupcakes.

Watching train videos.

Now the real thing.

Big girl doing some chores.

Jack also asked to vacuum.

Maeve helped set the table.  She also tried on clothes for our beach trip in a couple of weeks.

Such a cutie.

Maeve thought it would be funny to put her head in a puddle at swim class.  It wasn't..

A play-date at Little Beans Cafe.

Lunch at Jimmy Johns.

Grandma Nee-mas chair is still getting good use.

Picnics in February

Spring made a brief appearance this week, and all of Chicago took notice. Only in the Midwest will you find the parks bursting with kids in hats and mittens, basking in the 40 degree sunshine.

A little reader already. She loves to "read" books in bed like her big sister.
Never a dull moment.

An alternative way to rider her skateboard.

Jeritt took the kids to a ninja warrior play place over the weekend.

A picture of me and Lucy from my trip to Austin two weeks ago.

My Texas baby girls:)

Maeve being goofy.

Jack and I watched curling during the Olympics, so he tried to create the event at home.

After watching the ski jump, he tried to convince me to throw him into the air so he could fly like they did on TV.

Maeve and her friend, Mason, reading together.

We took advantage of the warm days this week to maximize our park time!

Yes, it was even warm enough for a picnic.

A coffee break with my best errand-running buddy.

Getting cozy in the tent in the basement.

I'm not opposed to bribery if necessary during our errands...

Jack was a little pooped during karate the other night. They work hard!

More reading.

Karate kids!
