Nine Months Old!

Jack turned nine months on September 2, but today was his doctor appointment, and we finally got around to taking his picture over the weekend. Here are his latest stats: 16 pounds, 6 ounces and 28.5 inches tall. He also has two more teeth coming in on top, and between that and his recent runny nose, he's been a bit of a mess the last couple of days.

In the past week we went on two picnics - one was just the four of us to a fun park on Labor Day, and another was with the families of More Than Milk (the volunteer organization I work with). Both were a lot of fun with gorgeous weather. Over the weekend, we also went bowling with Aunt Erin and Uncle Martin, and Ella may have gotten the wrong impression about how to play fairly. The bowling alley was an old-fashioned type where a guy stands behind the pins and manually sets them up. If you slip a buck or two into the holes of the ball when you send it down the alley, he'll likely knock a few more pins over for you. We sent most of the bills down with Ella's slow-moving balls, and by the end of our bowling experience, she kept demanding money to stick in her ball every time it was her turn. Ooops!

Ella received her first letter in the mail, from Cousin Abbie and Eric in Washington, D.C.!

She was so excited, she read it to Jack. He was busy, though, and didn't pay much attention.

Darn teeth...

The More Than  Milk moms and our kiddos!

Ella and a friend at the park after our picnic.

Not feeling well, poor buddy!

Kisses for mommy!

And then he bit me, and it really hurt!

Jack sure loves his Brownie the Monkey.

Our Labor Day picnic.

Bowling fun!

"I need money, I need money!"
More picnic pics.

Moo Cow got a lot of swing action at the park.

Making friends (at least this one isn't a stuffed cow!).
