Last Monday was my birthday, and that night we celebrated at home with cake and pie (from the orchard apples). Most people who know me are aware of my love of cake. Apparently, it's something I've passed down to both of my children. They are possibly even more obsessed with cake than I am, and that's saying a lot. The weekend was spent in Iowa, with the kids enjoying a visit with Grandma and Papa C., and Jeritt and I attending the wedding of our good friends, Nic and Savannah. We witnessed their beautiful engagement last November here in Chicago, and it was wonderful to share their wedding day with them. We also spent time with our friend, Sara, as well as my cousin, Lori, and her husband, Shawn. It was a short weekend, but we squeezed in a lot of fun!
