A Sneak Peek of Summer

As you'll see in the photos, we went from shorts weather to long pants and sleeves in a matter of hours this week. We loved the taste of summer, and can't wait for it to truly arrive. We even enjoyed our first night relaxing on the deck, as we celebrated Abbie and Eric's move back to Chicago! In kid updates, Jack had a great time at his annual preschool bake sale. It's such a fun event, and of course, we all enjoy the treats we bring home. Maeve is turning into our third little book worm, dragging books around and demanding that we "ree!" them to her. And Ella's reading has really taken off, and she's now reading some complete books to us. It's so cool to witness!

This fearless lady earned his first skinned knee of the summer. I'm sure there will be plenty more.

Girl knows how to grocery shop.

Maeve's first encounter with a sprinkler. She was a bit confused.

Thankfully her big sister will show her how it's done.

My baking partner for his preschool bake sale.

He was so excited about the bake sale! Probably because he knew we'd be bringing a lot of treats home:)
These two.

Enjoying his treats.

He used his straws to make a sprinkler. It was pretty impressive, and very entertaining.

Jack loves cherries.

I took apart our vacuum to clean it, and Jack was busy working on the hose all weekend.

Ella made up a song about California, and then created a sign to accompany it.

Ella rocked it at an obstacle course birthday party today. She even convinced me to try some of the challenges!
