Three Amigos!

With Liz and Maeve out of town most of the week, it was just the Three Amigos. We survived, barely.  Ella had a rough week. She went to the hospital on Friday night and received 2 staples in the back of her head for a small cut. On Saturday, she was so excited to watch the Lion King that she slipped on the floor and hit her face on the floor (small bloody nose ensued). That said, it was a fun-filled week. We took a trip to Chuck E Cheese, Ella's favorite pizza restaurant, the Field Museum, soccer, and of course Starbucks.  We actually went on a bike/scooter ride given the decent weather on Sunday.

Fun at Chuck E Cheese

This is the type of hairdo you get when Ella is the only female in the house.

They are truly best friends.
This is Jack when he doesn't get his nap.

Ella made her own waffle.  Honey, Cinnamon, Butter and Blueberries.

Jack was very, very excited to use the shopping cart.   This shopping trip ended with me chasing after Jack and then subsequently sliding across the floor.
Pizza night!

Pizza night ended with a trip to the emergency room.  Ella hit her head on the steps and had to get 2 staples.  She was incredibly tough and didn't even cry.
A trip to the Field Museum.  The next few photos are courtesy of Ella the photographer.

Jack and Oliver playing on the big dinosaur bone.
Ella is very proud of her tattoo.  The tattoo was a gift from the nurses who said that Ella was the one of the best patients they have ever had.

Brownie got married!!!!  Ella made the veil herself.
Wedding ceremony.
Wedding dance.
First kiss.
Cookie time!  Jack and Ella had to smell all of the ingredients.

The cookie batter got a little hard to stir, as evident in the next photo.

Best Friends

Jack and Ella have truly become best friends. Consequently, they declared Brownie and Pony as best friends and the four of them played together Saturday morning. Ella and Jack also decided that they would like to sleep in the same bed one night last week. As we tucked them in Ella's twin bed, she said, "I don't need any of my stuffed animals, I am going to snuggle Jack."  Then poor Jack realized what a human tornado his sister is in her sleep and retreated to his own bed halfway through the night. Still, it was pretty sweet to see them snuggled together. They truly are great buddies, and we can't wait to see Maeve join the fun. Speaking of little sister, Maeve recently found her "voice," and will imitate our voices when we coo at her. She's also doing a great job of sleeping in her crib, with some great stretches of sleep now and then. She's such a good baby!

Maeve often looks worried. I can't say I blame her.

Another day, another imaginary trip.

Ella the magician!

Pizza night is a family affair.

Working so hard during tummy time.

And then she just gives up.

Sometimes its painful to watch Jack get himself dressed. If you can't tell, he put his shirt on like pants.

Snuggled together.

Off on an adventure.

Maeve loving the attention of her big sister.

Abbie and Eric came to visit the week of Christmas, and below are the photos Abbie took during our time together. We sure miss seeing them so often, but love their visits!
