Final Days of Summer and Back to School

Well, it's official. Summer 2017 is over. But man, did we make the most of it. Beaches, lakes, trips with family and friends, parks, picnics, camps, and swimming, swimming, swimming. It was a blast, and it's bittersweet that school is back in session. To cap off our great summer, Grandma and Grandpa C. visited over Labor Day weekend. We enjoyed a few meals out, some great parks, and evenings under the pergola. On Tuesday, Ella began her career as a first grader. She wasn't thrilled about ending the summer fun while her little brother and sister remained at home (Jack starts this week), but once she saw her friends, she was back in the saddle.

Enjoying the last days of summer with a great morning at the beach.
Being at the beach by 9:30 on a Tuesday means you have it to yourself!

Maeve's favorite library activity is lugging around this basket. She kept saying, "It heavy!"

We visited Maggie Daley park over Labor Day weekend with Grandma and Grandpa C.

Maeve loved the log walk.

Another great park morning.

Our three kiddos ate a lot of Great Grandma P's kringla last weekend.

More Maggie Daley park.

A walk around the neighborhood included lots of drain pipe inspections.

Last trip to the pool.

Ella wanted to have a lemonade stand, so we raised money for Hurricane Harvey relief.

Papa teaching Jack how to siphon water.

Ella's first day of first grade!

Grandma and Grandpa C. helped send Ella off on her first day.

She settled in quickly!

Maeve's reaction to finding out Grandma and Papa were leaving that day.

Jack's hose arrived for his new Shop Vac from Uncle Adam. Needless to say, he's been busy!

A morning at the aquarium.

I'm so glad I brought the stroller.

Touching stingrays.

Maeve and her buddies.

A morning with our cousins on game day!
