Four Months Old!

Lately she's been trying to eat her toes. So close!

Long skinny toes... mmmm!

A little giggle.

Hey ma!
Four months ago today we welcomed our baby girl into the world in the midst of a cold Chicago winter. For the first time since she’s been born I think we can safely say that snow and ice are behind us and we’ll hopefully be enjoying more of the beautiful sunshine and warmth that greets Ella today. And just like the weather, she’s changing so quickly. Her latest trick, as discussed in the last blog entry, is rolling from her back to her belly. While she hasn’t completely figured out how to reverse roll, and her frustration of being immobile leads to a constant game of positioning her back to her back, it’s pretty cool to see her move on her own. There might not be a tooth poking through her tender little gums yet, but based on some recent drooling, biting anything she can get in her mouth, and some sporadic fussiness, we’re guessing that something is going on in there. Other Ella activities include squealing, a little bit of laughing, pulling mom’s hair, and constantly checking out her surroundings. For this, the Baby Bjorn front carrier has been extremely helpful. When the stroller doesn’t provide a satisfactory view, Ella loves to hang out in the Bjorn and check out the sights and sounds of the city. Although she’s four months old today, her next doctor’s appointment is still a week and a half away. We’re anxiously awaiting the latest stats regarding her weight and height, and have many questions for the doctor. Until then, enjoy the weather - summer is on its way!
