Party of Five: Jack the Man

Jeritt and I recently discussed how even though we get the opportunity to see Jack's personality develop on a daily basis, and enjoy his silly and sweet nature, his tendency to take a while to "warm up" to new people means that they often miss seeing him in his full glory. Therefore, we made a list of his burgeoning idiosyncrasies so that you can all get an idea of how wonderful our little man is.

He has great manners. He says "pease" with a toothy grin whenever he wants something - namely food.
As a result of his love of food and especially treats, he can get very upset when denied such items. He cried for 15 minutes one day this week because I wouldn't let him have a muffin for lunch.
He is a great imitator of sounds: motors, trains, airplanes, etc. His trilling motor noise recently scared a couple of women who we were tailing on the sidewalk. They heard him and turned around with fear in their eyes, surprised to find a toddler in a stroller instead of a rabid coyote.
His smile is infectious and often gets him out of the trouble he's about to get into.
Whether he's being tickled, snuggled, chased, or smooched, he'll say "again," requesting you repeat the action.
He desperately wants to be part of the gang. During play dates with Ella's friends, he'll chase after the big kids and refuses to be left out.
If he sleeps longer than Ella in the morning, he says "Ella, Ella," asking where she is.
He loves to drink out of a cup, especially without a lid. Fortunately, we can press a button to lock the fridge water dispenser, though we usually find a puddle of water and a soaking wet Jack before we think to do it.
From the time he was a baby, it was evident that the boy loved to snuggle. He enjoys all things soft - blankets, stuffed animals, and especially Brownie. He's also great at giving random kisses and snuggling in your arms or lap.
Along the lines of snuggling, Jack really enjoys his jammies. He never wants to get dressed in the morning and giggles in excitement at night when we get them out.
Speaking of that giggle... while he can adamantly say "no" and shake his head in refusal, we know he means yes when he giggles in response to a question.
His favorite toys are cars, trucks, and anything with wheels. I guess that's why he's perfected their sounds.
While typically easygoing and sweet, Jack is also very determined and a bit mischievous. He's been known to put toys in the toaster and climb the stove. However, while he's clearly capable of escaping his crib, he has no desire. He loves to sleep and will often say "no" when you try to pick him up in the morning. He'd prefer to snuggle with his blanket and Brownie.
